Our Mission
Our Mission is to provide essential resources that empower Mothers to advance their musical careers by creating a shared network, generating opportunities, and offering financial and emotional support initiatives.
Mamas In Music is committed to challenge the status quo as we advocate for equal opportunities for Mothers in an industry that historically under-values and under-represents their efforts, contributions, and abilities.
Our efforts to Connect, Empower, and Advocate are upheld by our core values: Community, Equity, and Growth.

Our Story
How it all started...

Tiff Randol (USA) and Mary Leay (UK) connected during one of the most transformative—and overwhelming—periods of their lives: the first year of motherhood. As songwriters, artists, and composers, they were both navigating the seismic changes of becoming mothers while trying to sustain their music careers.
For Tiff, the shift was immediate and jarring. Just six weeks after giving birth, she found herself without a management team. Despite having music lined up for release, the reality set in—she couldn’t do it all alone. Feeling isolated and unsure of how to move forward, she sent out an SOS email to a women’s music group, hoping to find other mothers in the industry who might understand. That email made its way to Mary.
"That email was like someone turned on a light inside me," Mary recalls. "Once my daughter arrived, I felt so alone. I had no idea how I would balance motherhood with my career. But after dedicating my entire life to my ‘first baby’—music—I knew I had to find a way to make it work. The idea of creating a platform to change this narrative, to ensure women like me could thrive as both artists and mothers, was a no-brainer. I was in!"
What started as an exchange between two exhausted but determined mothers—sharing breastfeeding struggles and sleep-deprived musings—quickly became something more. They opened up about the deep anxieties they faced: the lack of childcare making it difficult to accept work opportunities, the unspoken stigma surrounding motherhood in the music industry, and the fear of being seen as ‘less committed’ to their careers simply because they had children.
They didn’t have all the answers, but one thing was clear—something had to change.
In 2019, they took action. Mamas in Music was born as the first global organization dedicated to supporting and empowering mothers in the music industry. What started as two women determined to find a way forward has now grown into a thriving movement—a space where music mamas can connect, access resources, and continue making music on their own terms.
Because motherhood doesn’t mean pressing pause on your passion. And in Mamas in Music, no mama has to do it alone.
